We Are...

A Biblical church who clings to the Bible as the basis for our faith and life. We believe and teach that every word found in the pages of Scripture come from God and are completely true. It is in His Word that God makes us aware of our problem–sin–and our inability to fix this problem ourselves. In His Word, God also reveals to us His love and His solution to our problem–His Son, Jesus, our Savior.

A Christian church that believes and teaches Jesus lived and died for the sins of the whole world–for sinners like you and me. Apart from Jesus, there is no forgiveness, no comfort, no hope, no eternal life for mankind.  But, God, in his undeserved love, offers you full and free forgiveness of all your sins and the certain hope of eternal life as gifts. And it is all because of what His Son, Jesus, did for you through his perfect life, innocent death, and victorious resurrection.

A Lutheran church who stands confidently on the truths of the Bible reclaimed by Martin Luther during the Reformation. These truths are often expressed in Latin: Sola Gratia, Sola Fide, Sola Scriptura. We believe and teach that mankind is saved by grace alone, through faith alone, on the basis of scripture alone.

*Pictured to the left is the seal that was designed for Martin Luther. It is probably the most well-known Lutheran logo.

Huntersville Lutheran follows the Bible first and foremost. We find that the teachings of the Bible are correctly represented in the Lutheran Confessions (or here). These documents were prepared in the 16th century during the Protestant Reformation. Undeniably, life is not the same today as it was in Germany in the 1500s, but fortunately for all of us, God remains the same forever. The truths of grace and love and redemption and the practical wisdom for life that God has given us through his word are just as real and useful as they were when Christians 500 years ago sat down to summarize them so that God's people could see their God better.

The best way to find out more about what the Bible says and what we teach is to enroll in one of our Faith Builders classes. It is our course on the basics of the Christian Faith. To sign up for Faith Builders  or talk to Pastor Van Sice about what the bible says, click the button below.

Huntersville Lutheran is one of many congregations associated with an international church body called the WELS. The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) is a cooperating group of congregations headquartered in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Since 1858, the congregations of the WELS have been working together to do, as a whole, what individual congregations cannot. They train pastors, teachers, and other ministerial staff. They send missionaries all over the world - everywhere from Taipei, Taiwan to Huntersville, NC. They publish excellent theological and practical resources for the church. They do considerable relief work wherever there is need. Huntersville Lutheran is proud to be a member congregation of the WELS.
